More Information

Installation instructions

To install under Terminal Services in Application Server mode you follow the normal procedure when installing:

1. Make sure you start the installation in the control panel, Add/Remove Programs to ensure that the software is installed for Terminal Services use.

2. Then specify the setup program (setup.exe) for MODDE or SIMCA-P. They can be found on the CD in the Setup-folder.

3. Install a regular FULL installation. Do NOT select a Server installation.

Of course you need to install the software to a folder that the users can access. Minimum permissions are Read & Execute but certain files need write access also, see special notes about MODDE and SIMCA-P below.

Special notes about MODDE 8 under Terminal Services

To run MODDE under terminal services, contact your sales representative.

Special notes about MODDE 6 under Terminal Services

MODDE uses a file called plotsettings.uxl to store the settings that affect how plots look. This file is located in the folder Program Files/Umetrics/MODDE 6.0/Settings by default. In order to be able to change the plot settings, users need to have write access to this file.

Due to limitations in MODDE all users of a terminal services installation will share the same plot settings.

Special notes about MODDE 9 and SIMCA-P+ 12 under Terminal Services

To run MODDE 9 or SIMCA-P+ 12 under terminal services, contact your sales representative.

Special notes about SIMCA-P 11.5 and earlier under Terminal Services

Umetrics only supports installing SIMCA-P and SIMCA-P+ with a license key that does not require activation. Trying to install SIMCA-P 9.0 with a product key that requires activation may cause the software to require re-activation repeatedly. SIMCA-P/P+ 10 and later will not run at all under Terminal Services with a product key that requires activation.

For SIMCA-P/P+ 11 and 11.5, see also SIMCA-P crashes when run on Terminal Services (Q465)

SIMCA-P uses a set of files in a folder Application Data/Umetrics/SIMCA-P/[SIMCA-P-Version]/ located either under /winnt/profiles/%user% or /Documents and Settings/%user%. Users need write access to this folder for SIMCA-P to work correctly.
