Using the Mark Item Tool is slightly different in SIMCA-P 9.0 and later than in 8.0.
More Information
Using the mark tool in SIMCA-P 9.0 offers users more functionality than the same tool in 8.0. In 9.0 and 10.0.x, the tool has become a dynamic 'lasso' whereby the user can select and mark non-square clusters of data. This is very useful in selecting certain data from others in a tight area.
The tool can also be used in cooperation with the CTRL key. By selecting one group of data, then holding down the CTRL key, and selecting a second set - you can mark two sets of data simultaneously.
In SIMCA-P 10.5 and later both types of marking are available from the toolbar 'Select plot items'.
