Sales representative
Position Location - Malmö, Sweden
Umetrics develops software for design of experiments and multivariate data analysis, for the individual user as well as for on-line continuous and batch processes. We provide training at more than 25 locations worldwide and on-site consulting services. We are committed to supporting our clients in their mission to take control over their data flow, by conveying our advanced expertise in multivariate technology.
Job Description
In this function, you will be responsible for the sales of Umetrics’s products and services to the pharmaceutical industry as well as to biotech, chemistry companies and other industries. You will run the full sales process and create relationships at different levels within the clients’ organisations. Part of the sales will be conducted via phone, but the majority of business is done by visiting the client. Your base will be at the European Sales office in Malmö, and the number of overnight stays is estimated to 60+ per year.
Qualifications
In order to succeed, the successful candidate needs experience in sales, preferably of software where long and complicated sales processes are necessary. It is an advantage if you have conducted business towards the pharmaceutical industry, thus having gained thorough knowledge about the clients’ needs as well as procedures within R&D and production. Further, we believe you hold an academic degree, probably in engineering. In addition, we believe you have the following personal traits:
• Business-oriented and able to instil confidence
• Sales focus
• Independent and perseverant
• Good at creating relationships
• English (fluent) required, other languages are considered as a merit

Senior Application Specialist USA
Position Location - Andover, MA or San Jose, CA, USA

Our software enables engineers and scientists to quickly analyze and visualize large amounts of process and R&D data in order to make decisions for product and process quality and optimization. As Umetrics’ on-line process software business grows, our needs increase for a highly technical sales approach focused on on-line process applications.
Job Description
We are looking for a person with excellent process knowledge and experience who can take a technical message and convey this to our potential clients, as well as supporting the clients during and after the software installation, including trouble shooting and problem solving. Seeking a candidate who works with a min. of supervision and direction. Ability to work as a team player with the Umetrics US Operations group a must. Ability to work well with our industrial clients is essential. Technical teaching and consulting is also part of the job.
Travel within the US should be expected.
Qualifications
• BA/Chemical Engineering
• Min. 5 years exp. as a Process Engineer working with Chemical or similar processes.
• Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Chemicals industry, preferably for a technical product such as:
o databases
o data communication
o data visualization
o MES, LIMS, SCADA, etc.
• A proven ability to connect with clients, and explain technical details in laymen’s terms.
• Must be a fast learner in new fields, such as Biotech and Pharmaceutical production desired.
• The successful candidate does not necessarily need to have prior experience in multivariate analysis. Training will be available. However, formal instruction in Applying Statistical analysis, solving process, product or production problems, a plus.

West Coast Sales Manager USA
Position Location - San Jose, CA, USA

Our software enables engineers and scientists to quickly analyze and visualize large amounts of process and R&D data in order to make decisions for product and process quality and optimization. As Umetrics’ business grows, our focus slowly turns from a highly technical sales approach to volume applications that reach a wider audience. We are looking for a Sales Manager for our West Coast region that can take a technical message and convey these solutions to our potential clients.
Job Description
The emphasis of this job will be to work with the Umetrics West Coast team on generating software sales, building a pipeline of potential customers, and closing contracts in a timely fashion.
Goals of this job are as follows:
• Reaching monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Reducing sales cycle times.
Umetrics “West Coast” region is defined as part of the continental US; Pacific time zone, Western Canada, and Mexico as well as the western parts of South America. Travel within the US should be expected.
Qualifications
First and foremost we are looking for someone who has a demonstrated strong team work skills. You shall work together with the application specialists and sales managers in Umetrics, both in the local West Coast team, and also with Umetrics East Coast in Kinnelon, NJ, and European teams in Sweden and in the UK in finding and provide solutions to our customers.
• An experience in software sales – with a good working knowledge of software licensing details.
• Sales experience to the biotech, pharmaceutical, semiconductor or chemicals industry – preferably for a technical
software product such as:
o Data analysis or statistical analysis software
o databases
o data communication
o data visualization
o MES, LIMS, SCADA, etc.
• A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• A proven ability to connect with clients, and explain technical details in laymen’s terms.
• A technical background – a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study such as engineering, science
or math.
• The successful candidate does not necessarily need prior experience in multivariate analysis. This will be taught. Some experience with applying statistical analysis to solving process, product or production problems is an asset
