The second edition of the “Multi- and Megavariate Data Analysis” textbook has been released. There are many improvements and additions, including the information being updated to correspond to our latest version of SIMCA-P/P+ 11.0. Due to the large amount of information, the book has been split into two volumes.
The first volume covers general topics that apply to all industries and to all multivariate data analysis applications. This includes adaptive prediction is discussed with an explanation into how SIMCA-P/P+ compensates for the gradual shifts that are often encountered when analyzing process data. Given the growth of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) in the pharmaceutical industry, there is a PAT chapter that explains in detail the many aspects of its application. We have also included an in-depth example that steps you through the process of implementing a PAT project.
The second volume is intended for users who wish to increase their knowledge in special areas. The book contains a detailed coverage of OPLS (Orthogonal PLS), Hierarchical Modeling, Image Analysis and Data Mining. The book further caters to the research community with a chapter discussing ‘Omics’ applications; Genomics, Metabonomics and Proteomics. The remaining chapters include coverage of QSAR, Chem- and Bioinformatics and Multivariate Combinatorial Chemistry topics.
