Waters MassLynx Software to Feature Umetrics Software

Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) and Umetrics AB, a wholly owned subsidiary of MKS Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ:MKSI), today announced an agreement to integrate Umetrics® SIMCA-P™ suite of multivariate statistical tools into Waters® MassLynx™ MarkerLynx™ Application Manager software. The agreement will focus on developing a fully integrated solution for profiling small molecules in complex matrices (biological, food or chemical).
The new software tools will give scientists the ability to data-mine complex mixtures using the advanced multivariate methods developed by Umetrics. This data mining approach can be applied to numerous areas in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries. It is particularly well suited to the discovery of biomarkers for toxicity, disease or drug efficacy
