Dr Johan Trygg, Umeå University has been awarded the 5th Elsevier Chemometrics Award for his important research. The price including a check of 2000 USD will be presented to Dr Trygg at the 11th conference on Chemometrics in Analytical Chemistry held June 30th - July 4th 2008 Montpellier - France.

"This is the most prestigious price given to younger researchers within chemometric and I see this as a verification that I and my research group are in the forefront of the chemometrics field", says Johan Trygg.

Professor Svante Wold, head of R&D at Umetrics, who was the supervisor for Johan during his graduate studies at Umeå University comments that "Johan has developed from a brilliant PhD Student to an excellent researcher with his own group.
